Fermentation tank cleaning method

2025-05-30

Fermentation tank is a fermentation device for microbial cultivation, which is used in many industrial production processes. Fermentation technology is widely used in processes such as biopharmaceuticals, feed, alcohol production, yeast production, enzyme production, protein derivatives, hydrocarbons, beverages, and activated sludge treatment. The fermentation process can be divided into aerobic fermentation and anaerobic fermentation.

There is a stirring device inside the fermentation tank, which requires low stirring intensity for anaerobic fermentation processes such as alcoholic beverages; During aerobic fermentation, the stirring conditions have a significant impact on the material. The stirring process during fermentation involves gas dispersion, solid-liquid suspension, heat transfer, and mixing. The cleaning problem of fermentation tanks is usually addressed by maximizing the use of automated operations. The commonly used method is to clean the cleaning ball, which includes fixed cleaning ball, rotating cleaning ball, dual cycle cleaning device, etc.

Fixed cleaning ball: Traditional fixed cleaning balls are the most commonly used cleaning devices. Fixed cleaning balls come in different forms, sizes, and cleaning abilities. They can spray cleaning solution onto the tank wall for simple cleaning. Fixed washing balls are best used for washing tank walls. Spray water from a separate nozzle with holes and spray it onto the same position on the tank wall. Due to the size limitation of the nozzle, the force of each impact point spraying onto the tank wall is very limited, and the amount of water that is not impacted is actually zero. So in order to achieve the required cleaning effect, enterprises must use a large amount of high concentration chemical cleaning agents or high-temperature cleaning solutions for long-term cleaning.

Rotating cleaning ball: In actual cleaning use, the method and effect of rotating cleaning ball are superior to traditional fixed cleaning ball. The nozzle of the rotating cleaning ball sprays onto the tank wall in an irregular manner, which combines the cleaning method and mechanical impact force with less water and chemical consumption compared to fixed cleaning balls, and can remove residues in a short period of time.

Dual cycle cleaner: Dual cycle cleaning can effectively clean the fermentation tank, with spray forms including mid top spray, mid bottom spray, full spray, spray cleaning within a 360 degree range, high cleaning efficiency, low water consumption, energy consumption, and chemical agent dosage; Sanitary structure, self-lubricating with cleaning solution, capable of universal washing tank at any angle.

After a period of use, the fermentation tank still needs to be thoroughly cleaned to ensure product quality and extend the service life of the fermentation tank equipment.
